When Is The Block 2026 Auction? What Eight Seasons of Auction Dates Point To

Short version:

• Nine hasn't named the day. The Block 2026 auction is still officially unscheduled.
• Six seasons running, the auction has aired on a Sunday 13 weeks after the premiere. This season started on Sunday 2 August, and 13 weeks on is Sunday 1 November.
• Five room weeks are left on the published schedule, which fits that pattern with nothing to spare. Sport has already bumped one reveal this month.

When is The Block 2026 auction?

Nobody outside Nine can say for sure, because the network hasn't published it. What we can do is line up every recent auction against the night that season began, and the result is unusually tidy.

From 2020 to 2025 the gap was 13 weeks every time — 91 days, landing on a Sunday at 7.00pm. The 2024 season is the only wrinkle, and only because it opened on a Monday. Apply the same gap to this year's premiere on Sunday 2 August and you get Sunday 1 November.

Treat that as the likeliest date rather than a booking. New Idea's season guide says only that it'll be in October or November, going by earlier seasons, and that's still the most any outlet has put in print.

How many weeks of renovating are left?

Five. Wikipedia's season page lists twelve room weeks, and the teams are finishing week eight, Rumpus and Laundry, with its reveal on Monday 28 September. After that come the kids' rooms, the outdoor terrace and pool, the backyard and garage, and finally the front yard and facade.

Count a reveal a week and the last one falls on Sunday 25 October. The week after that is auction week on the old pattern, which is why 1 November keeps coming up.

TVmaze only has episodes filed as far as Sunday 4 October, so everything after that is our projection. Nine's guide for Thursday 1 October already mentions opening the homes to the public, with $50,000 up for grabs — the kind of step that normally lands late in a season.

Could sport or a schedule change push it back?

It's happened already this month. Nine gave its Sunday 27 September slot to the Wallabies v Springboks Test, and the Rumpus and Laundry Reveal slid to Monday — we explained that move here. The build week that follows then squeezed into Tuesday to Thursday rather than the usual Monday start.

The next pinch point is Sunday 4 October. The NRL Grand Final is on that day, Nine is the free-to-air NRL broadcaster, and TVmaze still has the Kids Room and Re-Do Room Reveal at 7.00pm the same night. Nine's own guide doesn't stretch that far yet, so we'd wait for it before trusting either listing.

One-night slips like that haven't moved an auction in the six seasons above. If one ever does, it'll show up first in the Sunday listings a week out, which is what we'll be checking.

What time will the auction be on?

Every auction since 2019 started at 7.00pm on a Sunday on Nine, and they ran long: 110 to 157 minutes on TVmaze's figures, so a finish between 9.00pm and 9.40pm on the east coast. The 2018 one was the outlier at 7.30pm and 90 minutes.

By November the clocks will have changed. Daylight saving starts on 4 October, so Brisbane sits an hour behind Sydney and Melbourne from then on. Our capital city times page has the conversions, and 9Now streams Nine live as well as on demand.

Who's in front before the auction?

On room scores, Adam and Jolene, 175 to Courtney and Sev's 173 on our running tally after Kitchen Week, with Lisa and Rosco third on 160½. The working is in our Kitchen Week results.

Room scores earn prize money along the way, but they don't decide the season. The auction does: the team whose house sells for the most above its reserve wins. The five teams at 109 Old Mornington Road, Mt Eliza are Adam and Jolene, Chantel and Wyatt, Lisa and Rosco, Courtney and Sev, and Rick and Tayla.

Where does the season go after the auction?

Straight to the next one. Nine has already confirmed a 2027 season at Jacksons Hill in Sunbury, with three heritage buildings, and the rest of next year's slate is in our 2027 line-up.

FAQ

Has Nine confirmed the auction date?
No. As of Friday 25 September there's no date from Nine, and the episode guides stop at 4 October. Sunday 1 November is our reading of the last six seasons, nothing more.

Will the auction be on 9Now?
Yes. 9Now carries Nine's broadcast live and puts every Block episode up on demand afterwards, free with a login. If you plan to watch later, stay off social media that night.

Is there anything to watch on Friday nights meanwhile?
